We support excellence in the delivery of hospice palliative care and end-of-life services
The Desert Valley Hospice Society is charitable organization committed to supporting excellence in the delivery of hospice palliative care and end-of-life services for residents of the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos and Okanagan Falls. The goal of end-of-life care is the same regardless of setting; to ensure the best possible quality of life for dying people and their families.
As a society, we promote public awareness and education of issues relating to hospice palliative care and end-of-life services. We work towards honouring the memory of persons whose lives have been lost due to illness by holding special events such as our annual "Celebration of Caring Hands" and our annual "Hike for Hospice".
Numerous volunteers and supporters of the society raise funds on an ongoing basis to support the work of DVHS. With the support of our community partners we secure and manage donations in order to disburse funds which help to improve end-of-life care.
Through our partnership with South Okanagan General Hospital Volunteer Coordinator, trained hospice volunteers are provided to support and assist persons and their families requiring hospice palliative and end-of-life care.
