hospice volunteer training


​Desert Valley Hospice Society's hospice volunteers provide an invaluable service to the people in the communities of Oliver,  Osoyoos and Okanagan Falls.

Our volunteers are required to complete a 30-hour training course followed by a 6-hour practicum. DVHS trained hospice volunteers provide social, practical and emotional support to those living with a serious or life-limiting illness.

Our volunteers do not replace nursing care, home care or family support; rather they complement the health care and family team to enhance the quality of life, for the patient, their families, and the caregivers.
