hospice volunteer training
Desert Valley Hospice Society's hospice volunteers provide an invaluable service to the people in the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos and Okanagan Falls. Our volunteers are required to complete a 30-hour training course followed by a 6-hour practicum. DVHS trained hospice volunteers provide social, practical and emotional support to those living with a serious or life-limiting illness. Our volunteers do not replace nursing care, home care or family support; rather they complement the health care and family team to enhance the quality of life, for the patient, their families, and the caregivers. |
