Wellness Call Check-in Program
The Wellness Call Check-in Program is DVHS’s response to COVID-19. Hospice volunteers are matched with clients within the communities of OK Falls, Oliver, and Osoyoos who are either living in retirement residences or their own homes. Volunteers call to “check-in”, providing connection, conversation, audio-socialization, and anxiety relief. They also are able to provide information on community and healthcare resources from the DVHS Oliver/Osoyoos/OK Falls Community Resource Booklet.
Our Hospice Volunteers have training in Communications (Listening, Reflection of Feelings, Empathy) and Bereavement. Many volunteers want to help during the coronavirus and this program facilitates that without physical contact. CALL US!
If you know someone who would benefit from this program, encourage them to register or with their consent register them.
