Secret Santa for Seniors 2021​

Desert Valley Hospice Society (DVHS) partnered with local hotels to bring a smile to seniors’ faces during the holiday season with Secret Santa for Seniors. By donating a small gift, locals and hotel guests had the opportunity to make Christmas special for a senior living alone or in need of Christmas spirit.

The event was a huge success with many new, unused gifts dropped off in donation boxes placed in lobbies of select local hotels and senior facilities in Oliver and Osoyoos: Coast Oliver Hotel, Oliver Senior Centre, Desert Gem RV Resort, The Bargain Shop in Oliver, and the Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos.

DVHS volunteers picked up the boxes on Friday December 17th and proceeded to wrap and deliver the gifts to our senior clients in need of Christmas spirit.

Members of the public, who did not have the time to shop for a gift, donated money directly to Desert Valley Hospice Society and our hospice volunteers shopped for a senior on their behalf.   

Many, many thanks to all who participated! Our community seniors truly appreciated your gifts and kind thoughts.
